Overview

Taste Ards & North Down's Local Food & Drink Hero Awards take place on Wednesday 6 March 2024.  These awards acknowledge the success of the food and drink sector in 2023 and provide a focus for our public message to support local food and drink businesses.

In this third edition of the awards, over 25 businesses will be celebrated alongside the top accolade; the Lady Dufferin Award for Producer of the Year.  In addition, we have a new additional award;  the 'Taste Ards & North Down Local Food & Drink Champion of the Year'.  This award will be presented to a person or business who stands out as a local champion of food and drink'.

Why your views matter

This is an opportunity for our food and drink businesses to nominate their champion individual or business they feel is making a signficant contribution to the local food and drink sector. Nominations can be restaurants, independent retailers, butchers, bakers, food excperience providers, tour guides, farmers or any business or individual who is leading from the front to put local produce on the map.

You have up to three nominations and if there is no clear winner by the time the nominations close the top three nominatiions will be subject to a run off vote. 

A list of potentiial nominee businesses and indivduals is attached in a file - as are terms and conditions 

Please note that no more than three nomination submissions will be permitted from a single business. 

What happens next

When nomiinations are complete on 14 February, the top five will be revealed to the network ahead of a final vote.
